Timber funds return to Clallam County

Clallam County will receive more than $800,000 in redistributed timber tax funds as part of the budget signed by Gov. Christine Gregoire on May 2. The budget includes $10 million for 20 timber counties in Washington. Checks soon will be distributed to the counties.

County combines voting precincts

Clallam County will go from 95 voting precincts to 67 starting with the August primary election. The board of commissioners adopted a resolution at the April 3 meeting as submitted by County Auditor Patty Rosand to alter and combine voting precincts.
Committee to examine Clallam courthouse security
